ABOUT ME
My first experience of yoga was as a child when I watched my mum, who had practised since before I was born. As I grew up and in adulthood I lived in my body through sports, dance and martial arts but it was yoga which encouraged me to make a conscious connection between my body and mind.
‘When we bring our mind into our body, the body becomes mindful, and the mind becomes embodied.’ Donna Farhi
My professional life has involved over twenty years working with children, adolescents, adults and families in distress and providing guidance and support to other practitioners and helpers. I’ve often used yoga as part of my self-care, so I could continue to be helpful to others and keep myself healthy for my own family.
Over the years I realised that yoga - especially moving with the breath (which is a bridge between body and mind) - could be valuable to children, families and colleagues alike. So from 2021-2023 I completed Triyoga teacher training led by two inspiring teachers - Anna Ashby and Tony Watson. In 2023 I completed Susannah Hoffman’s ‘teaching yoga to children’ training also through Triyoga.
I now offer yoga to individual children, siblings or small groups, families, and parent-couples. I also offer yoga to helping professionals. I can work with beginners and modify postures to suit varied levels of flexibility or fitness. Sessions also include breath work and relaxation.
